A Jam Pedals favourite for a lot of guitar, bass and keyboard players, the Jam Pedals WaterFall Chorus Vibrato is sitting on the boards of such great players as John Scofield, Nels Cline, Steve Lukather, Anthony Jackson and John Mesdeski to name just a few. The Waterfall has established itself as one of the best analog chorus/vibrato pedals in the market full stop.
Part of the magic is the featured BBD chips that are faithful reproductions of the Panasonic MN3207, plus 2 toggle-switches, the first to select between chorus and vibrato modes, and the other to switch to a “wetter” effect resulting in a deeper, more contemporary sounding chorus, or a more intense, deranged vibrato sound! Experiment away…
If you crank up the Depth and Speed controls you’ll get access to Leslie-speaker type effects!
This makes the Jam Pedals WaterFall Chorus Vibrato is an extremely versatile and rich, very three dimensional sounding, tone-machine that has converted even the most rigid of chorus-haters into believers.
And, the WaterFall features soft-click (relay) switching.
Players using the Waterfall include: John Scofield, Steve Lukather, John Abercrombie, Nels Cline, John Medeski, David Hidalgo, Daniel Lanois, Jim Campilongo, Lee Ranaldo, Anthony Jackson, Jeff Berlin, Dweezil Zappa, Greg Koch, Eivind Aarset, Guy Pratt, Robert Randolph, Julien Kasper, Paul Reed Smith, Joe Robinson
Greg Koch noted that, “I have only used chorus effects in the past to replicate a leslie. The WaterFall chorus is a textural dynamo. I use it to create moist soundscapes that warble and flow at the same time. You step on it and the ‘wow’ factor is engaged.”
And artist after artist sings its praise. The fact it looks great too is just icing on the chorus cake.
What we love about Jam Pedals, apart from the great tone, is the attention to detail. Each pedal comes with a bag and pick that suits the pedal, they’re not generic to the brand. Does this little thing actually matter though? Only in as much as it shows a mindset, and indicates the attention to detail that goes on inside the enclosure too!
