The Most Expensive Guitar Effects Pedals

Expensive Guitar Effects Pedals

We all love a great effects pedal. Whatever draws us to a particular brand or effect, what we do know is some are not exactly pocket money material.

So, it got us thinking, what are the most expensive guitar effects pedals out there? And while we know there are plenty of outliers such as Kurt Cobain’s distortion pedal (75,000 good old US dollars), even beating Jimi’s Octave pedal, we wanted to look at new only.

Also, we’re keeping it to single effect pedals rather than multi-effect, but we’re allowing multiple versions of an effect such as reverb. Also, it needs to be an on-the-floor models. It’s arbitrary, yes, but hey, it’s our blog!

So, if you have money burning a hole in your pocket… (though we think many of these are worth every penny!)…

Source Audio
What a great manufacturer. Some outstanding sounding units come from this stable, the Vertigo, Spring Reverb, the outstanding EQ2 and others. And at the upper end we’re looking at models that pack in studio level reverbs with the Ventris. Check out our range in stock.

Ventris sell for around £365

Walrus Audio
What a range these guys offer now, from their new Fundamental range, through their classic and beautiful looking mid-tier range (including the Slo, Julia, ARP-87 and many more). But up at the top we have their Meraki Analog Stereo Analog Dual Delay Pedal. Check out what we stock.

Meraki sell for around £565

Meris
We don’t currently stock these guys (though we can order them in), but what a quality firm producing some great effects.

Their reverb unit is outstanding if you’re OK with the whole menu diving thing, and their lower priced range still contains some outstanding models. However, their LVX Modular Delay looks like a winner within our entirely frivolous blog rules.

Meris LVX Modular Delay sell for around £689

Jam Pedals
We love the tone of these pedals, and their slight twist on things at times, check out the range we stock, but at the top sits one that is ideal for the Floyd purist… the Pink Flow. We can’t really include it according to the rules we set out at the beggining, but for some reason here it is, as it’s really a sort of multi effect unit, just a bit specific, so we let it sneak through.

Jam Pedals Pink Flow sells for around £849

Victory
A hugely respected range of amplifiers have now spawned a set of matching guitar amp pedals. OK, not strictly an ‘effect’ but hey, here we are… anyway, check out their range at their website and see the range of pedals they offer. We need to get hold of a few of these and try them out.

Victory amp pedals sell for around £899

Dawner
We’re in serious money now, but some of us chase the ultimate tone, especially of such classic effects. The Dawner is quite something. Coming out of Croatia, this multi head drum echo is developed to replicate the classic Binson Echorec.

Dawner Prince Boonar Tube Deluxe Drum Echo sells for around £1199

T-Rex Binson Echorec
Can we include this? Could you really put this on the foot on step on that bypass ‘footswitch’? At this price? I guess technically you could, so here it is, one of the most expensive pedals (though it’s a stretch to call it a pedal) we could find out there that’s not an ex-famous musician, or rarity pedal on the used market. And what a unit if you have the money, something very, very special.

T-Rex Binson Exhorec sells for about £1699

So, what did we miss? There are a lot out there of course that sit around the above prices, and these are some of the most expensive guitar effects pedals out there, but have you seen something even more expensive? Contact to let us know and we’ll update the blog.

Have fun out there.
