Bogner have made their name with outstanding amplifiers, and recently they’ve moved on to some insanely great pedals. The La Grange is based off the iconic sound of an old black and gold Plexi tone. But more specifically this pedal is based off of the sounds often used by Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. By designing this pedal like an amplifier preamp it lets you get a lot closer to the sound of a cranked valve amp.

Continuing their series of pedals based on amplifiers, the Bogner La Grange Overdrive is designed to emulate the legendary British “Plexi” amplifier tones, which every legendary guitarist has played at one time or another. An array of controls and switches (such as Tone, Variac, Presence, Structure and more), including an independent foot-switchable boost, deliver decades of Plexi tones in one powerful compact pedal enclosure.
The Bogner La Grange overdrive/boost guitar effects pedal gives you a super tweak-able amp-in-a-box. A standard set of controls starts the process for that famous Plexi tone while a row of mini-toggles above the knobs allow you to dial the La Grange into your ideal tone. A variable boost function is uniquely independently selectable (you don’t have to have the overdrive engaged to use the boost function) to drive the pedal even harder. Plus the Bogner La Grange also boasts an expression pedal jack to control your gain levels in a whole more expressive and creative way.
The broad tone control gives a huge spread of tonal design and means it suits single coils or hum buckers equally as well. Overall this is a great overdrive that’ll can capture that Plexi feel.
