Guitarist and Toneport magazine both mentioned it’s amp-like responsiveness, superlative tone, and dynamics. And Nels Cline (Wilco) highlighted just how fond he is of his Rattler. He mentioned it’s fat, creamy sound and sustain.
It’s fair to say the incredible team at Jam (Athens, Greece) really pulled out all the stops to make sure the Rattler will get you all the amazing tones of great early 80s ProCo RAT® distortion boxes and further they put in the time and R&D to make it more responsive to picking and fretting nuances resulting in a more open, dynamic, overdriven tube-amp feel! Yes, it really is that good.
When you take on a classic, you’d better add sometime that makes it stand out, and Jam Pedals did that with this build.
How did they do it? Its asymmetrical clipping circuit, carbon comp resistors and of course the legendary LM308 chip (the featured star of this design) are the main ingredients of a distinctive recipe resulting in the Jam Pedals Rattler Distortion shining through any rig, modern or vintage.
We’re sure you’ll enjoy the fat, creamy distortion courtesy of the devious, but beautifully painted, snake! A real animal on your pedalboard.

What we love about Jam Pedals, apart from the great tone, is the attention to detail. Each pedal comes with a bag and pick that suits the pedal, they’re not generic to the brand. Does this little thing actually matter though? Only in as much as it shows a mindset, and indicates the attention to detail that goes on inside the enclosure too!

We are an online store only, so your new pedal has never been demoed on a shop floor or been out on display. We do though test all pedals (and any power supplies where included with pedals) before we send them out to hopefully minimise any hassles of faulty pedals on delivery.
